Six Pense Farm is a small three acre hobby farm in Southern Illinois.  We usually have some chickens and rabbits and sheep around, but in the past have also had a pony, turkeys, and milk goats.  Having lost many poultry to predators over the years and many apples, pears, and pecans to squirrels we decided we really needed a farm dog.  Mom has always had a love for collies since reading Albert Payson Terhune's books as a child so she started looking for a  collie pup, but knew she wanted an old fashioned type farm collie not a show collie.  When she found the "Old-Time Scotch Collie Association" website she knew that this was the type of dog we needed, a farm collie type.

We are a homeschooling family with three teenage girls still at home so we were delighted to meet the Bradleys of 4JAcres Farm who also homeschool, have a small farm, and are missionary kids too. We have enjoyed one of their scotch collie  puppies, "Laddie" very much, and also enjoyed our visit there to pick him up.  We were Christian missionaries in China and Taiwan and Haiti for 15 years.  We find it quite fitting that our two dogs have such international pedigrees coming from collies raised in New Zealand, Canada, and Peru!  We hope the scotch collie puppies of Laddie and Tikvah will bring as much enjoyment to their new owners as they bring to us and to the many people who visit our home and meet them.

Take a 'tour' through our beloved farm and enjoy seeing where our collies live, work and play! (Click on the above image to see a slide show)
